The MC93, a European stage
The Maison de la culture de Seine-Saint-Denis, known as the MC93, is one of the great national stages of the Paris region, set near the canal since 1981 and thoroughly renovated. Here you applaud French directors and artists from around the world, in two bright, modern halls. Taking a ticket for two and continuing the evening in the theatre’s bar remains a safe bet for a curious first date.
Around the Prefecture
Capital of its département since 1965, Bobigny houses the Seine-Saint-Denis Prefecture and a cluster of institutions gathered around Place de la Libération and Avenue du Président-Salvador-Allende. The Town Hall, a resolutely modern building, dialogues with l’Illustration, an iconic structure by the canal. A terrace coffee then an urban stroll is enough to feel the pulse of this fast-changing town.
Market, shops and Pablo-Picasso area
Between the Bobigny – Pablo-Picasso metro station, terminus of line 5, and the Bobigny 2 shopping centre, the town gathers a lively market, many shops and friendly cafés.
